Sourdough & Artisan Bread Flavors
What’s the difference between your basic artisan and sourdough bread?
Sourdough has a tangy flavor due to the addition of sourdough starter and the fermentation process. This fermentation process makes sourdough easier to digest, can improve blood sugar control, and increases the bioavailability of certain nutrients. Basic artisan bread is a more classic bread without the sourdough tang and additional health benefits – but just as delicious!
Sandwich loaf or oval (batard) shape – how do I choose?
Loaf shape is based on your preference and does not impact the final weight or taste of your bread. Our sandwich loaves are baked in a rectangular bread pan, creating a uniform loaf for slicing and sandwiches. Our oval (batard) shape is a freeform loaf baked without a pan. This creates a crispier crust and a more rustic shape. These loaves are perfect for serving with dinner or for nice occasions, but can still be used for sandwiches.
